Warehouse Operative

We have identified a need to streamline and enhance our warehouse operations to support rapid growth while improving efficiency for our clients and other departments within the organisation.
We are seeking detail-oriented candidates to manage and oversee our entire warehouse operation, with a strong focus on maintaining quality. Responsibilities
- Inspecting incoming deliveries for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Receiving and booking in components against the bill of materials, allocating them to designated bin locations within the warehouse.
- Accurately pick components to enable the configuration department to commence production.
- Pack completed orders and notify the relevant departments for shipment booking.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate inventory systems.
- Identify and report discrepancies between physical stock and system records.
- Adhere to company policies and standard operating procedures for quality control.
- Ensure the safe use of warehouse equipment and maintain a safe environment for all staff members.
- Perform basic maintenance or report faults on warehouse equipment and near misses.
- Maintaining compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Assist with ad hoc projects, such as reorganising stock or preparing promotional kits.
Requirements
Education/Experience
- Understanding of warehousing and inventory management
- Full, valid UK driver’s license
- Knowledge of the legal requirements for operating a warehouse
- Counterbalance forklift license preferred, but not mandatory
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Knowledge of inventory and inventory controls
- Experience and understanding of inventory management software
- Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) controls
Soft Skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritise workload
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Capable of working independently or as part of a small team
Language Skills/Proficiency
- Fluent English
